Congratulations Members!

Several BSSS members participated in the 47th Annual Bath County Art Show in July and won awards. They included:

Julie Farrell won the George & Mary Beach Memorial Award for her painting “Studio Miscellany with Iris” and Joseph Wilson received the William Grover Galleries Award for his painting “Fertile Valley”.

In watercolor, Penny Cabell placed second with “Maine Dinghies”.

In oils & acrylics, fourth place went to David McCaskey with “Jackson Oak”.

In the charcoal, pastels & graphics category, Barbara Brothers received second place for “Peeling Bark”.

In mixed media, first place went to Kelly Gravely-Mattox for “In the Beginning” and fourth place to Maribeth Nolde for “Old Fabric Illusion #7”.

Honorable mentions went to Ron Boehmer for his oil & acrylics work “Middle River Improv”; Virginia Deane for her oil & acrylics piece “Model in the Studio”; Katharine March for her oil & acrylics art “Brownsburg House”; Sue McCoy for her oil & acrylics work “Waiting to Rent a View”; Nan Mahone Wellborn for her oil & acrylics piece “Cowpasture River Peaks II”; Jeff Wickstrom for his graphic art “Honey…It’s for You”; and Shirley Wray for her oil & acrylic piece “Another Friday”.

Cheryl Gerhart's piece, titled "Journey 1," has been accepted into the exhibit: "9x9x3: New Visions," The Textile Study Group of New York's exhibition of works in fiber during February and March 2012 in the Lobby Gallery of the Wall Street Journal Building, 1155 Avenue of the Americas, New York City.
