Mary T. Echols MARY T. She is a much-respected artist and teacher who is highly accomplished in both respects. She taught Art History and Studio Art at Mary Baldwin College for 23 years and has taught at Beverley Street Studio School since 1994. |

Janly Jaggard JANLY JAGGARD, BFA, The West of England College of Art and Design, Bristol, England. Janly has more than thirty years of teaching experience. She studied Sculptural Ceramics as an undergraduate before discovering Vitreous Enameling on copper as a medium. She now paints as readily as she works with other mediums. Her teaching style is one that anticipates a serious quest on the part of the student who wants to develop a sound foundation of knowledge. She exhibits regionally, nationally and internationally and has participated in several group and solo shows. |

Cleveland Morris CLEVELAND MORRIS, BA, Yale University, where he studied drawing with Bernard Chaet and color theory with Richard Lytle, among other renowned instructors. He continued his studies at the West of England College of Art and the Delaware Center for Contemporary Art. He is an artist and writer living in Staunton. After twenty-five years of working in the theatre, he returned to his first love: the visual arts. Since that transition, he has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions and is represented by galleries in Wilmington, DE and Norfolk, VA. |

Shay Herring Clanton SHAY HERRING CLANTON, MFA, James Madison University; BA, Mary Baldwin College She has taught at James Madison University and presently teaches at Mary Baldwin College. Shay has exhibited in group and solo exhibits, meriting numerous awards.
John Morgan JOHN MORGAN, Professor of Studio Art at Sweet Briar College He has taught Oil Pastel workshops throughout the state for the past 35 years, and is a regular instructor at the Nimrod Hall Summer Workshops. John has been the recipient of two NEA grants.
Karen Rosasco KAREN ROSASCO, BS in Art Education, State University of NY at New Paltz, and over 50 graduate art credits from Institute Allende, University of Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende, Mexico and the Universities of Santa Clara and Notre Dame, CA. She taught high school art for 31 years helping seniors prepare portfolios for the top design schools in the nation and has been presenting workshops for adults for 27 years in the Northeast and abroad. She has had over 150 group and solo shows and has been accepted in national juried shows winning awards such as the Silver Medal in the 2007 American Watercolor Society International Show in New York City.
Danny Hauben DANNY HAUBEN born and raised in the Bronx, is acclaimed as the borough’s most versatile and prolific painter who works in both oil paint and chalk pastel. “I’m a landscape painter,” he says “It just so happens that the landscape I paint is most often the Bronx.
Sarah Lock SARAH LOCK, MA, James Madison University with dual concentrations in metalsmithing/jewelry and painting. She has been a working silversmith for 30+ years with work in several regional galleries and co-operatives. She also sells and demonstrates metalsmithing in juried shows around Virginia such as, the State Fair, the Artisan Center of Virginia and Court Days Festival. She enjoys passing on her love of metalsmithing and tools to students of all levels.
Jan Olsson JAN OLSSON, MFA in Drawing from the University of Arizona. Member of Mary Baldwin Art Department Faculty from 1980-1990. Three residencies at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris France, and at the Santa Fe Art Institute in 2005. Awarded the Professional Fellowship in Painting from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in 1989. Current resident at La Ruche, an artist’s colony in Montparnasse, Paris established in 1903. Rick Weaver RICK WEAVER, MFA, University of North Carolina, Greensboro. BS, Vanderbilt University. Studied at New York Academy of Art, National School Academy of Art, and the Art Students League of New York. Recipient of Ludwig Vogelstein Foundation Grant (1993). Rick has taught at the Washington Studio School in Washington D.C. and the Art League in Alexandria, VA.
Liz Geiger LIZ GEIGER, Charlottesville painter received a B.A. in painting from the University of Virginia in 1990 and went on to study with Graham Nickson at the New York Studio School, and with Nell Blaine, Bernard Chaet, and George Nick at the Vermont Studio Center. Working from life, she has painted still life, landscape and figure paintings, focusing mainly on the still life. Mrs. Geiger has shown regularly throughout the east coast from Virginia to Massachusettes. She is represented by Gross McCleaf Gallery in Philadelphia and Callen McJunkin Gallery in Charleston, WV. Her work can be seen in the Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville and the Sheltering Arms Hospital in Richmond. In 2007, Mrs. Geiger received a fellowship from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Her painting has been called "luscious", "athletic" and "risk-taking" - be sure to look for her forthcoming article in the April American Artist magazine.
Ellen Martin ELLEN MARTIN, has operated a photography studio in Lexington since 1998 specializing in photographing works of art for artists, museums, and galleries. She is also co-owner/photographer of Alone Mill Publishing and published four books on Rockbridge and Bath Counties. Ellen exhibits her black and white “wet darkroom” and color “digital” darkroom works at Virginia Born and Bred in Lexington and Alleghany Highlands Crafts Center in Clifton Forge, and has been in numerous solo and group shows. She is a member of Virginia Professional Photographers Association, the Rockbridge Camera Club, and the Rockbridge Arts Guild.

Z. L. Feng Z. L. FENG, Before coming to the U.S. in 1986, Feng received his BFA degree from Shanghai Teacher’s University and taught in its art department for four years. He completed the MFA degree at Radford University where he is currently a Professor of Art. In his homeland of China, Feng exhibited his portraits, landscapes, and illustrations in juried exhibitions. Since coming to the U.S., his work has received acclaim throughout the country, garnering more than 300 state, regional, national, and international awards with many “Best in Show” awards and Gold Medal honors in major U.S. watercolor competitions.
Carolyn Kreiter-Foronda CAROLYN KREITER-FORONDA, a poet, painter and educator, holds two masters degrees and a Ph.D. from George Mason University. She has published four books of poetry and co-edited a poetry anthology. Her poems appear in Hispanic Culture Review, Prairie Schooner, Poet Lore, Mid-American Review, Antioch Review, Passages North and others. She has won many awards for her writing and teaching, and was named Poet Laureate of VA from 2006 - 2008.
Richard Crozier RICHARD CROZIER, Painting and drawing professor Richard Crozier received his BFA from the University of Washington, Seattle, and went on to earn an MFA from the University of California at Davis. A senior member of UVA Art Department’s faculty, he has been actively involved in community arts and service, while also maintaining an active exhibition schedule. Prof. Crozier is represented by galleries in New York, Santa Monica and Richmond. His teaching schedule regularly includes both introductory drawing and painting courses as well as directing advanced projects in painting.
Christine Rooney CHRISTINE ROONEY, BFA, Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio. 1984 West Chester State University, graduate courses in education. Recently she has been teaching drawing and composition at the Lynchburg Art Club. She now includes teaching pastel and encaustic classes.
Linda Carey LINDA CAREY, BFA and MFA University of Arizona/Tucson in painting and drawing. Award-winning graphic designer and illustrator for 20 years. Owner/principal of Carey Design, Columbus, Ohio. She phased out her design business to return to painting, and began teaching drawing and painting at the Columbus College of Art & Design in 2001. Linda moved to Williamsburg in 2003 and has taught at the College of William and Mary since then. Her works have been shown nationally in gallery, juried and invitational exhibitions and are in numerous private collections. She is currently represented by Keny Galleries in Columbus, Ohio.
Bill Barnes BILL BARNES, BFA, Drake University, Chicago. MFA, University of Arizona/Tucson. His paintings and monotypes have been exhibited in over 150 national, juried and invitational exhibitions throughout the country. Bill is the recipient of numerous awards and grants, including an NEA and two residents at La Cite Internationale des Paris. He has taught at William and Mary since 1975.
Bill White BILL WHITE is a painter who has taught at Hollins University since 1971. He has a BFA from University of the Arts and MFA from Tyler School of Art, Temple University, both in Philadelphia, PA.
Barbara Quackenbush BARBARA QUACKENBUSH, has received a Bachelor's of Fine Art from Richmond Professional Institute, now named Virginia Commonwealth University. Upon graduation, she pursued art studies in the Nation's Capital, at George Washington University and the Corcoran Gallery of Art. |
