Color and Value in Pastel

Shawn Dell Joyce

New Workshop

Dates: September 11 & 12
Times: 10am to 3pm
Tuition: Members: $200 - Non-members: $230

Create drama with deep values, and learn to see color as value to make breathtaking paintings with dramatic light and color. Work with the color wheel to understand complementary palettes, and a value chart to see color as value. Use techniques and rules of painting to create different textures in the landscape and further the illusion of depth. Participants should have a general knowledge of pastel (not beginners) and a set of 72 or more soft pastels (see materials list). Students will work from supplied references, and receive individual and group attention.
