Learning About Color and How to Use it to Improve Your Paintings

Peg Sheridan

6 sessions
Mondays: November 7, 14, 21, 28 & December 5 & 12
9 am to 12 pm
Tuition: $270 members - $300 non members

This class is offered by the request of many students who struggle to make beautiful colors, and avoid making “mud”, in watercolor. Peg teaches you essential skills, such as: understanding color theory, mixing color, the relationship of color and value, how to plan a color palette for a painting, and much more. She will also help you to understand properties of color such as: warm vs. cool; transparent vs. opaque; granulation; staining vs. non staining; intensity; hue; complementary colors; primary, secondary and tertiary colors; and more. You will also learn how to complete a painting with a limited palette of two to five colors. If you are ready for a college-level class on color in watercolor, join us! You will immediately see your paintings improve with these lessons.

Peg will provide demonstrations, color worksheets, and individual help. Homework assignments will help you use what you have learned in class to complete a painting. A materials list will be sent.

We will be following CDC recommendations.
