Maria Reardon will show you how to create successful paintings outdoors on location using the exciting vibrant colors of soft pastels. Students will learn to observe, select and edit what they see in nature to create either finished paintings on location or sketches for later use in the studio. The class will meet at locations in Staunton, or in the studio if weather is inclement. You will learn how to simplify your painting process, establish strong designs based on solid drawing along with accurate value arrangements and color combinations. The goal will be to create several sketches and a couple of paintings each day. A materials list will be provided upon registration. www.mariarreardon.com
